We’re a diverse group of runners who run most Saturday mornings and would love for you to join us! We have a range of ages, paces, and athletic abilities and backgrounds, but we enjoy running as part of a group.

This group was born on Saturday, August 3, 2024, after Pacers Running Store cancelled the Saturday morning long runs. These runs began nearly 18 years ago by kind people with a love for running and running with other people. In order to keep that same love of running with others alive, the NoVA Rogue Runners were born.

Courses Details for Saturday Long Run on 4/12/2025

8:00 at Roosevelt Island! This week we will be starting from Roosevelt Island. We will be running our “Big Loop” course which provides distances between 2-20 miles.  Please note that parking at Roosevelt fills up quickly. So make sure to get there to grab a spot and be signed in and ready to run by 8 a.m.

Please be sure to bring your own hydration and nutrition. We will run past some water fountains but we cannot guarantee they will be working.

Course Directions for the run up Capital Crescent:

– Starting at Roosevelt Island, head north out of the parking lot into Rosslyn and across the Key Bridge

– Turn R as you come off Key Bridge and take the pedestrian bridge across the canal and onto the trail

– Head north along the canal, when the trail splits at the boathouse (mile 3), stay on the paved trail to the left (the Capital Crescent Trail)

– Follow the Cap Crescent north towards Bethesda.

– Turn around at the appropriate marker.

2 Miles: Turn around just after crossing under Key Bridge as you start along the canal

6.25 Miles: Turn around at the Boathouse / Rest Area

8.5 Miles: Turn around at Mile Marker 7 on the trail

10 Miles: Turn around at the entrance to the tunnel

12.2 Miles: Turn at the bridge over Mass Ave (first bridge after the tunnel)

14 Miles: Turn around at the crosswalk for Dorsett Ave (first crosswalk after the tunnel)

16 Miles: Turn around when you reach Bethesda Ave

17.75 Miles: Continue along the trail and turn around at Mile Marker 2.5 on the trail

20.25 Miles: Continue along the trail and turn around at Jones Mill Road

22 Miles (BIG Loop):

– Continue on the Cap Crescent Trail until you get to the crosswalk for Jones Mill Rd.

– Turn R onto Jones Mill Rd, and follow it south to East West Highway

– Cross East West Highway and turn L

– Follow East West Highway over to Meadowbrook Ln

– Turn R to take Meadowbrook Ln past the equestrian center.

– Pick up the trail thru the ball fields and tennis courts to Beach Dr.

– Follow Beach Dr back to the zoo

– Follow Rock Creek Parkway all the way out of the park toward Georgetown

– Just after crossing under M st, turn R up the Canal Towpath

– Run along the Towpath to the Key Bridge

– Cross back over to Roosevelt, done!
